Portable Printer And Scanner

No businessman wants to be behind the curve on technological advantages, but sometimes it can be hard to tell if you need a new product or not, such as with the portable printer scanner. A portable printer and scanner is distinguished from an ordinary printer by being, of course, something that you can carry around easily. While not quite something to fit in your pocket, the typical portable scanner printer can be carried under the shoulder, or slid into a roomy briefcase. In terms of weight, you may find them ranging up to five pounds, though most are somewhat less than that. The bulkiest and heaviest models are generally of the HP brand, so if you want something slim and trim, you’re best off selecting a different brand name.

A portable scanner and printer has many different advantages for the businessman on the go. Many are intended to work with the by now indispensable laptop, making them portable laptop printers specifically. But regardless of whether they hook up with your laptop or not, these scanners all share many general benefits for the average user. For instance, if you work in some form of sales, having photos of real estate or products whenever you like can be helpful. Or if you have business meetings that involve Internet content, it can often be easier to simply print out the relevant web pages and pass them around rather than try to get everyone to squint at a laptop monitor. A scanner and printer also gives you the flexibility to revise and reprint a document while you’re moving about, which can be indispensable to those who move around a lot during the course of their jobs. And, of course, being able to back up your work wherever you are is something that simply can’t be underestimated.

For all this, though, there is a fairly hefty price to pay. If you want a decent-quality general-purpose model of portable printer, you’ll have to lay down between two and three hundred dollars. For this, you can get a machine that handles color and monochrome as well as a variety of paper size and type settings. For the same price you could get a machine that does all that and more… but it won’t be portable! The portability is the prime factor in the expense of these products, simply being a byproduct of how costly it is to shrink technology down to an easily carried size.

However, if your needs are more specific… say, for instance, if you only need to print a particular kind of object, like snapshots, then you can save a hundred dollars or so by selecting a more specialized model. A portable printer that handles only a particular kind of document is much cheaper than a general-purpose portable printer, while still being equivalent in quality for its specialty. For instance, one can find four by six snapshot printers that are portable for fewer than two hundred dollars, if you don’t need to print anything else. As with all products, it’s best to figure out what you need first, and then find the product that fills that need for the best price.
