Canon Selphy is a series of portable photo printers manufactured by Canon. The Selphy series consists of printers that are suitable for entry level as well as routine photo printing enthusiasts who do not want a bulky gear to print out quality photographs.
Canon Selphy CP760 is an example of a low cost portable photo printer produced by Canon. The size of the CP760 is smaller than a normal inkjet printer. This is because the CP760 does not use standard sheets to print. The Canon Selphy CP760 can easily fit in a laptop bag and be carried around, as the size of the printer is very compact. This Selphy Canon printer comes with an AC adapter, paper cassette and some photo printing trial sheets. There is a TFT screen mounted on top of the printer, allowing users to preview pictures before printing them out. Furthermore, users can navigate the printer menu by using the nine soft keys mounted adjacent to the screen. Like most portable photo printers, this Canon compact photo printer Selphy supports different memory cards, allowing users to print out pictures without having to connect a laptop first. Also, the Canon Selphy 760 also comes with a USB support. Printing pictures from this printer is extremely simple. Additionally, the Selphy Canon printer comes with editing options such as red-eye elimination, portrait image optimization and screen select. A disadvantage that this printer has is that you need to purchase a Bluetooth USB key from Canon in order to allow wireless connectivity. Furthermore, the size of this printer, once the printing trays are fixed, does not really remain that compact.
Canon Selphy CP780 is another portable printer that is a member of the Canon compact photo printer Selphy series. This Selphy Canon printer is capable of printing photos up to a size of 4×6 inches. Like most portable printers, a laptop does not need to be connected to get photo printouts. The LCD screen mounted on the Selphy Canon printer is pretty small in size. Users are unable to use this LCD to preview if the picture they intend to print is really in focus. Furthermore, editing features like zooming, cropping and rotating can not be accessed through the LCD screen. A laptop needs to be connected to edit photos before they are printed. The printing quality of the Canon Selphy780 is considered to be good as the photo printer produces crisp photographs. The Canon Selphy CP780 also comes with different memory card supports as well.
